Join us for a  showing of "Living Through Fear - The Resilience of Immigrants in the United States" on Thursday, August 20th at 6:30

At the 1st Universalist Church in Orange (31 N. Main St.) for film and discussion.

Senior students at Four Rivers Charter Public School filmed and produced this documentary as part of their Senior Project. A member of this team of students will join us for the film and discussion. Through the experiences of immigrants, activists, lawyers, and politicians, this 52 minute documentary explores the policies and enforcement of immigration, as well as its historical context. This film centers the experiences of immigrants under the presence of ICE with a focus on New England. "Living Through Fear" highlights the strength and actions of those fighting for immigrants' rights, finding hope inside a world of fear according to information of the school website. Light refreshments served. Help spread the word about this event.

National, State and Local Indivisible Groups come together to protect voting and get out massive voter turn out.

Local work by Indivisible North Quabbin -- Members of the voting team continue to work hard to organize postcard parties and send messages to people who may not be registered to vote in Georgia and Texas with eyes on Senate races in those states.
August 24th, Monday from 1-3 p.m. at 1st Universalist Church -- People are invited to a Postcard Party at the Universalist Church at 31 N. Main St., Orange.  Postcards will be available in packets of 15 for $10 (cash).  
August 28th, Friday at 9:30 -- Connie Pike and Mike Magee will host another great Postcard Party at their home (110 Holtshire Road, Orange). Please RSVP at 978-544-6651.  Packets of 15 stamped postcards may be purchased for $10 (covers cost of materials and stamps). If you would like to purchase postcards, bring cash.  There will be some available purchased by a donor.

Voter Registration -- The Voter Registration Team is looking for volunteers to do voter registration at Market Basket.  It means setting up a table outside.  We will provide training and support.  There are already a couple of times set up at Market Basket.

Voting Team Meetings -- Aug. 21st from 5-6:30 -- Voter Suppression group.

August 28th from 5-6:30 -- Whole Voting Team.  Both meet at the 1st Universalist Church in Orange.  Watch for other projects on voting and the November midterm elections.

Indivisible will be holding two trainings. Sign up for the Election Protection 101 & 201 trainings on August 19th and 26th.

Other local/regional events:  August 29th at 11:45 - Short gathering in Memorial Park at end of weekly Stand Out to discuss election protection, Sen. Comerford's visit to Orange on September 24th and ideas from membership.
